The FBI has removed servers from a top web hosting facility in Reston, Virginia in an early morning raid on Tuesday. This has resulted in 120 websites being down. The facility is identified, as owned by DigitalOne of Switzerland.
An investigation into one of DigitalOne's customers has resulted in a raid at the top web hosting company's ground in which FBI investigators have disconnected tens of servers unrelated to the targeted customer. This has resulted in a widespread service disruption for other DigitalOne clients. The act has hurt the reputation of this top web hosting company, whose Chief Executive Sergej Ostroumow, says they do not identify the customer FBI is investigating into as their client. He further informs that other sites have been down for over 30 hours due to the FBI's act. These include ones belonging to publishing houses, payment providers and smaller web-hosting companies that use this top web hosting company's data center to serve their clients.
